The techniques explored in this workshop were developed almost 100 years ago and have been used to manage symptoms of conditions such as Polio, MS and Parkinson’s. Moreover, the method includes the development and application of certain self-observation capabilities which are necessary to ensure the efficiency of the techniques and result in direct benefits to the therapist.
Somatic Mindfulness is an evolution unique form of a therapeutic bodywork known as Tragerwork that explores the body-mind connection through aware touch and shared mindfulness. It is highly effective in promoting flexibility, stability, freedom and greater body awareness by releasing habitual holding or tension patterns in the mind and body. Other important effects include clarity of mind and reduced stress and/or anxiety. This therapy induces deep relaxation, can be part of a rehabilitation program, and can help enhance sports or artistic performance. It is an experience that progressively and effortlessly transforms body and movement perceptions through new positive sensations.
